Een blik op het grofvuil van de wijken van Amsterdam “Amsterdam heeft 881.933 mensen. Mensen die verhuizen, verbouwen, uit elkaar gaan, een kind krijgen of gewoon een nieuwe bank. En die oude bank? Die belandt bij het grofvuil. Net als stoelen, tafels, tv’s, lampen en matrassen die hun beste tijd hebben gehad. Hele interieurs worden op straat gezet tijdens de grofvuilavond in de wijk. Boris Suyderhoud reed langs al deze wijken, en bouwde daar van grofvuil het interieur van de stad." Het interieur, exterieur. -------- Each day, a different neighborhood of Amsterdam gets their weekly night that they can put out their “big trash” to get picked up in the morning. From couches, bookcases and tables to complete livings rooms and personal items are put next to the underground trash containers. On these nights I would drive around the neighborhood and collect the items to compose an installation that forms an imaginary living space formed out of the leftovers of consumerism. Lighting the setting to a livable image, it gives the viewer a new perspective on the things that people are willing to give up on to the ever growing landfill. “Maybe this table is good to use again in my place?” If so I created an interior of the neighborhood it self, an interior, exterior.
